This policy explains what the RideYellow Help Desk collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written for the two groups who use the platform: drivers who text or call our support line, and staff who sign in to the Help Desk.
1.Who we are
The RideYellow Help Desk is operated by Administrative Services Cooperative, Inc. (“ASC”, “we”, “us”), 2050 W. 190th St, Suite 100, Torrance, CA 90504, on behalf of itself and its affiliated Yellow Cab offices: California Yellow Cab (Orange County), San Diego Yellow, and Metro Taxi (Denver). The platform is built and maintained for us by our technology affiliate, Rylo Technologies. “RideYellow” is our consumer and driver-facing brand.
2.What we collect
From our own records (already held to operate the fleet): your name, driver/lease number, cab number and fleet, office, mobile number, email address, date of birth, start date, driver’s licence and vehicle registration numbers and expiry dates, work-eligibility status, and your roster photo.
From what you send us: the content of text messages you send to our support line, photos or documents you attach, voicemail recordings and their transcriptions, and the phone number you send them from.
Technical information: message delivery status from the carrier, the in-cab tablet and payment-terminal identifiers associated with your cab, and — for staff — sign-in records and an audit log of actions taken in the platform.
3.How we use it
To answer your questions and troubleshoot in-cab equipment; to send remote fixes such as a tablet or payment-terminal restart; to record and route issues to the right office desk; to review renewal documents you send in; to remind you about expiring documents and scheduled inspections; to send occasional courtesy messages such as a birthday or work-anniversary note; and to understand where the support line is failing so we can improve it. Staff information is used to operate accounts and maintain an audit trail of who did what.
4.Text messages and calls
Message frequency varies with how often you contact us and what is expiring on your record. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out of further messages, or HELP for help. Opting out stops our messages; it does not affect your standing with the co-op or your ability to call the office.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your mobile number or message content with third parties for their own marketing.
5.Recorded calls and voicemail
If you call the support line and leave a message, that recording is saved along with an automated transcription so staff can act on it. Transcriptions are machine-generated and are frequently imperfect; staff can listen to the original recording. Recordings are visible only to authorised staff.
6.Automated assistance
Messages to the support line are read by an automated assistant that can answer common questions and trigger routine fixes such as a tablet restart. Anything it cannot handle is passed to a person. Staff can read every conversation and step in at any time.
The assistant does not decide your work eligibility, your pay, or your standing with the co-op. Those decisions are made by people, in our dispatch and back-office systems, and the Help Desk only records what was submitted.
7.Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:
- Twilio — sending and receiving text messages and calls
- Anthropic — the automated assistant that drafts replies
- Supabase and Vercel — database, file storage, and hosting
- Resend — staff notification email
- IBM MaaS360 — managing the in-cab tablets
We also share information within the Yellow Cab offices as needed to resolve your issue, and we may disclose information where the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, or in connection with an insurance or legal claim.
8.How long we keep it
Conversations, issue records, submitted documents, and voicemail are kept as long as needed for the purposes above and for our business, insurance, and regulatory obligations, after which they are deleted or de-identified. Roster information is kept for as long as you drive under our authority and for the period afterwards that our record-keeping obligations require.
9.Your choices and rights
You can reply STOP at any time; ask to speak with a person instead of the assistant; and ask us to correct anything we hold about you that is wrong.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request a copy, to ask us to correct or delete it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. To make a request, contact us using the details below; we may need to verify your identity before we act.
10.Security
Access to the Help Desk is invite-only and limited to authorised staff, scoped so that each office generally sees only its own drivers. Actions taken in the platform are logged. Information is stored with our hosting providers using encryption in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, and we ask staff to keep their credentials to themselves.
11.Children
The Help Desk is for adult drivers and staff. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
12.Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes affecting drivers will be communicated through the support line or your office.
